Step Into Entrepreneurship with the Launch of Sunflower Beauty Salon & Sunflower Creation Fashion in Nyagatare District.

Last week marked a deeply inspiring milestone for the Grace Girls Coalition community in Nyagatare District, Rukomo Sector, as we officially launched two new cooperatives for girls who successfully completed a six-month technical training program.

A total of 17 young women graduated from training and transitioned into entrepreneurship, taking a bold step toward financial independence and sustainable livelihoods. This moment was not only a celebration of completion, but also the beginning of a new chapter filled with dignity, confidence, and opportunity.

The graduates have been organized into two cooperatives based on their skills: Hairdressing and Tailoring. These cooperatives: Sunflower Beauty Salon and Sunflower Creation Fashion represent more than business initiatives.

They are a reflection of resilience, growth, and the power of investing in young women.

Through Sunflower Beauty Salon, the girls will offer professional hairdressing services, helping clients feel confident while building stable incomes for themselves. Through Sunflower Creation Fashion, others will transform creativity into wearable art, producing garments that reflect both skill and innovation.

For these 17 young women, the journey has not been easy. Many started with uncertainty, but through consistent training, mentorship, and support, they have gained not only technical skills but also confidence, discipline, and a renewed sense of purpose.
