GGC is proud to announce another remarkable milestone in its commitment to empowering young people and creating opportunities for girls to build brighter, more independent futures.

On 09th October 2026, GGC received an award from the National Youth Council (NYC) in Bugesera District in recognition of its contribution to youth empowerment.

GGC was recognized as one of the National Youth Council Bugesera District Partners, highlighting its continued efforts to support young people and contribute to their development.

This recognition is a meaningful acknowledgment of the work GGC continues to do alongside its partners and communities to equip young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to shape their futures.

19 Sewing Machines were given: Turning Skills into Opportunities

The celebration brought even more exciting news for our girls in Bugesera! Following the successful completion of six months of vocational training, the girls received , 19 sewing machines from the National Youth Council in Bugesera District.

This generous contribution marks an important step in helping the girls put their newly acquired skills into practice. With access to sewing machines, they have greater opportunities to continue developing their craftsmanship, produce handmade products, explore entrepreneurship, and work toward earning an income.

For these girls, completing six months of training represents more than learning how to sew. It reflects dedication, perseverance, and the determination to build a better future. The sewing machines are an opportunity to transform that learning into practical action and open doors to greater economic independence.

Investing in Girls Means Investing in Communities

At GGC, we believe that when girls are equipped with practical skills and supported with the right resources, they can unlock their potential and become active contributors to their families and communities.

However, completing a training programme is only one part of the journey. Access to tools, mentorship, market opportunities, and continued support is essential to help young women turn their skills into sustainable livelihoods.

The support provided by NYC Bugesera District demonstrates the value of partnerships in bridging this gap between training and opportunity. By working together, organizations and local institutions can help ensure that young people have not only the knowledge to succeed but also the resources to take their next steps.

Celebrating Partnerships and Progress

GGC extends its sincere appreciation to the leadership of our country as well as the National Youth Council in Bugesera District for recognizing our work and supporting the girls who recently completed their six-month vocational training.

This recognition inspires us to continue strengthening our efforts to empower young people, particularly girls, through skills development, meaningful partnerships, and opportunities for economic empowerment.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also celebrate every girl who committed herself to learning, every partner who contributed to this journey, and every opportunity that brings us closer to a future where girls can confidently pursue their dreams.

Congratulations to our girls in Bugesera!

At GGC, we remain committed to creating opportunities that help girls move from learning to earning, from potential to possibility, and from dreams to reality.

Together, we are building a future where every girl has the skills, resources, and confidence to thrive.🌻
