Blooming Again: Amina’s Journey with GGC

Amina is one of 150 girls supported by Grace Girls Coalition (GGC). She joined GGC in 2025 in Musanze District, where she began her 6 month practical skills training in Hairdressing.

After completing her training, due to family conflict, Amina’s mother had to relocate to Nyagatare District, and Amina had to move with her. This news broke her heart.

In Amina’s words:

“Joining GGC in Musanze was my dream come true. I found friends, I met sisters, I found a family, and above all, I found purpose and hope that I had lost. After joining GGC, I knew my life was going to change,I could feel transformation within me, and I was so excited. After 6 months of hard work, training, and early mornings, I was told I had to leave my dream behind and move to a new location. I felt very sad and hopeless again.”

With sadness in her voice, Amina called GGC Founder, Marie Grace Uwingabire. Hearing the pain in her voice, Grace immediately asked her which exact location she was moving to. Thankfully, it was a place where GGC already operates in Nyagatare District.

Amina found a new home, new friends, and another chance to continue chasing her dream. She joined GGC Rukomo “Sunflower Beauty Salon “

We recently visited Amina to check on how she had settled in. Seeing her smile again was beautiful. She is happy, thriving, and has blended so well with the Rukomo girls.

Amina’s story is a powerful reminder to never give up on your dreams, even when life takes unexpected turns.

It is truly beautiful to see GGC growing across different locations, creating opportunities for our girls to continue their journey no matter where life takes them. Recently, GGC expanded to Bugesera District, and we hope to reach and empower even more girls across Rwanda.

We love seeing our girls grow, heal, and thrive. Amina’s story is one of resilience, hope, and transformation.
